We got a glimpse of some of the best girls in the nation, and these stood out on Saturday.
Destinee Manzo: Big leg despite the windy conditions, and her defensive help from the midfield position led to her team managing a scoreless tie despite being outshot 21-3. Manzo was a vocal leader out on the field, but often hesitated to make an immediate pass, causing passing lanes to shut down as teammates called for the ball.
Madison Mercado: Showed an ability to create her own shot around the net, as well as find open teammates. Coaches remarked that she did everything right all day, except for correctly judge whether to put power or finesse behind her shots. Individually, Mercado took more shots on goal than the entire opposing team.
